Haven for Security Guards
Everything you need to run your gate with confidence — from scanning QR passes to handling emergencies.
Logging into the guard app
- 1Download the Crovix Haven app from the App Store or Google Play.
- 2Ask your estate admin for your guard login credentials (email and temporary password).
- 3Open the app and log in. The guard dashboard looks different from the resident dashboard — you'll see the Scanner tab.
- 4Change your password when prompted on first login.
- 5Enable notifications so you receive emergency SOS alerts instantly.
Scanning a visitor QR code
- 1Tap the 'Scan' button (camera icon) on the guard home screen.
- 2Ask the visitor to show their QR code — either on their phone or a printout.
- 3Point your device camera at the QR code. It will scan automatically.
- 4The screen shows the visitor's name, host unit, purpose, and expected time window.
- 5If the pass is VALID, the screen shows a green checkmark. Allow entry.
- 6Tap 'Approve Entry' to log the check-in time.
- 7If the pass is EXPIRED or INVALID, the screen shows a red X. Do not allow entry and call the resident.
Checking out a visitor
- 1When a visitor is leaving, tap 'Scan' again.
- 2Scan the same QR code the visitor used to check in.
- 3Tap 'Checkout' to record the exit time.
- 4The system flags visitors who checked in but have no checkout after their expected window.
Handling walk-in visitors
- 1If a visitor arrives without a QR pass, tap 'Walk-in Registration'.
- 2Enter the visitor's name, purpose, and the unit they're visiting.
- 3Tap 'Notify Resident' — the resident receives an in-app alert asking to approve or decline.
- 4Wait for the resident to respond. The app shows their decision in real time.
- 5If approved: tap 'Allow Entry'. If declined: politely turn the visitor away.
- 6If the resident doesn't respond in 3 minutes, call them directly before making a decision.
Using offline mode
- 1The guard app automatically syncs visitor passes when connected to the internet.
- 2If you lose connection, already-synced passes can still be scanned and approved offline.
- 3Offline scans are logged locally and uploaded automatically when connectivity returns.
- 4The offline sync badge shows how many passes are cached. Keep it above 0 at all times.
- 5To force a sync manually: pull down on the home screen to refresh.
Responding to emergency SOS
- 1When a resident triggers SOS, you receive a loud push notification immediately.
- 2Open the alert — it shows the resident's unit number, name, and GPS location.
- 3Call the resident immediately to assess the situation.
- 4Dispatch response to the location. The map link opens in Google Maps.
- 5Once the situation is resolved, close the alert in the app by tapping 'Mark Resolved'.
⚠️ Important: Never allow entry for an invalid pass
If the scan shows EXPIRED or INVALID, always call the resident to verify. Do not rely on visitors claiming the system has an error. If in doubt, escalate to your estate admin before allowing entry.
